Martha Claire Breland began her relationship with JCFA as a social work intern in 2013 while in graduate school at Tulane University. She is now a Licensed Master of Social Work working towards her clinical license. Martha Claire uses a strengths based perspective to determine appropriate strategies and interventions for students in need of support. Martha Claire is excited to introduce a new Social Emotional Learning course to students enrolled in Jobs for America’s Graduates. The course will focus on improving 5 Social-Emotional Learning competencies: Self-Management, Self Awareness, Social Awareness, Relationship Skills and Decision Making. Martha Claire co-leads new student orientation and works closely with students to offer support during their first few weeks at JCFA.
Martha Claire enjoys spending time with her family, playing competitive tennis, cheering on her favorite teams (Geaux Tigers, Roll Wave, Who Dat!) and traveling to areas with less humidity. She is thrilled to be a part of the JCFA family as it continues to grow and enroll future graduates!
